United for Joanna T. Gundayao<marquee><font color =black>We'll miss you Jo! Love u Forever</marquee>

She's a mother, a wife, a teacher, a daughter, sister, cousin, friend and neighbor. She's smart, beautiful, loving, understanding, strong and faithful. Yet, she's so much more. She's not willing to be defined by her illness and we won't let her. Because she is still the same person, the one we know and love.

Joanna was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer this past May 2007. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Her battle will not be an easy one, but our hope is that by standing together with her, we can help her win each and every fight.

Joanna has a large and supportive family, as you may know, and an abundance of friends. We may not all be in the same place physically, but our hearts are one with hers. We are all uniting in support for her to be "pillars of strength" during this time.

Family and friends from Guam and San Diego have gotten together for numerous fundraisers to help with Jo's treatment and expenses. Jo's coworkers have also stepped up by providing her family with meals and donating their sick leave. Past and upcoming events include lunch plates, bake sales and brunch functions. Coincidentally (not really), they all involve food. Because who doesn't love to eat? We will continue to update this page to give you more information.

Today, the world has lost one of its heroes, a brave, beautiful, inspirational soul who touched the lives of so many. But heaven has, in turn, gained an angel who no doubt will watch over those she loved while on earth.
Jo, no words can express the gratitude we all have for you bringing joy, faith, hope and love into the lives of all those you have met. And no words can relay our sadness at your loss. But we will remain strong as you had, even until your last breath, and we will continue the fight to find a cure. We will miss you dearly and our hearts will be forever...United for Jo.
